Message:
Folks this has been an episode on trying to get this truck to run again but no luck... I have an 89 dakota V6 my truck just stopped running will turn over and sputter. Checked codes 24 and 25
changed both TPS and ISC. Even changed out pickup coil, cap and rotor. Still wont start. Rest the timing. No start. Have fire. Computer was out of warranty bought another one still wont start. Let the truck sit awhile and looking for answers. One thing I noticed is that my test for the codes check engine light does not work like it should... the light will come the 1st turn but nothing after that..no codes... any help would be great.

Have fire I guess means has spark. Are you getting fuel to engine?

check you wires!
had same problem .
specially with hot ignition you wire going bad real quick (if its humid outside ,or truck sit in the garage long time)
do simple test in the dark garage.
ask you buddy to crank ,and look closely around ignition system( cap ,wires ,coil )for sparks .
also check you plugs gap , hot ignition will eat it very fast
mine was "taylor "brand wires ,50 ohms--no good!!
now its MSD wires -very happy.

good luck!

Just because you have new parts does not mean it is not one of the parts you have already replaced.I had no spark, replaced the pickup coil with one from NAPA,still no spark.Replaced the computer, still no spark.Turns out the new pick up was bad out of the box.

What you are talking about is the ignition switch, and yes if its not making good contact it could cause the same problems you are having.
Good Luck

ethanol fouling, try different gas. Most older cars are doing it at start up, also clean air flow into motor. Cheaper than buying parts.
