Subject: P133 error code
IP: Logged

Message:

I have a 2004 dakota 4x4 with a V6 and when I ran my diagnostics, it gave me this code - P133

I think it said Slow Oxygen sensing circuit - Bank1, Position1

I guess I need to replace the O2 sensor, but can someone tell me where it's located?

Thanks!
Mike

You'll find the upstream O2 sensor on the top of the exhaust tube in front of the catalytic converter. It took a while for me to locate mine as you usually just have to look for the wire. Dodge does a nice job of securing it to the transmission so it isn't obvious. Bring a flashlight and look for a wire coming off the tranny towards the exhaust pipe, you'll find it easiest that way.

Ahh - found it!!

But how the heck do I get a wrench on it?? There's no space in there at all. What did you folks do?

Also, I see the wire, but where the heck is the connector?? Looks like the wire runs off to oblivion somewhere. Very tightly packed. The driver side is stuffed up into a tight crevice that I can't even get my fingers into.
The passenger side is up under the transmission - Good God!!
Did anyone just cut and splice the wires? Is this possible?

Thanks again,
Mike
