so back about a month or two i replaced my IAC sensor because i broke it. I didn't get a mopar sensor, got one at advance auto. i couldn't spring for the $100 mopar versus the $50 advance auto. recently truck has been running terrible, fast idle, horrible gas mileage, not much power. Never would have suspected the IAC since i just replaced it but guess what? I took it off today to clean and inspect, turned the little metal sleeve (not the plunger) a few times and put back in and now a huge difference. it's not drinking gas anymore and idle much better and got power back.

Question is: could the sensor be sticking and if so is there anyway to grease it without ruining it? anyone??

The best thing to do would be to remove the IAC, clean it with carb cleaner, and the throttle body
then replace and see if that helps, apparently, something was a little off for it to make a big difference in the way it is running.
Good Luck
