I need to remove my 3.9L V6 2wd std engine. Any tips on where to start or the process?? Maybe a manual to assist in the project? How long this could take? And if a non-mechanic should attempt this? I need to tap two header bolts that were snapped, now my headers are leaking and i cant get a good seal. Its loosening the rest of my exhaust and is extremely loud. Any help is appreciated.

First I heard of pulling the engine to fix busted manifold bolts. You will need a angle drill, good cobalt drill bits and a good eye to drill the bolts out straight. You might want to remove the fender well and work from under the fender. get one drill bit that just fits in the header hole and dimple the bolt. this will get your smaller bit started dead center so no head damage. BE SURE YOU BUY LEFT HANDED DRILL BITS AND AN ANGLE DRILL THAT RUNS IN REVERSE. Once you dimple the bolt, you can either remove the header to finish drilling with the smaller bit or (my way), leave the header on to do the job. In many cases, the bolt will back out while drilling. That's the reason for the left handed bits. If it doesn't, then you'll need an easy out. Be sure your wires are identifiable for reassembly. There may be better ways, year and engine considered.
