Has anyone here attemted to put a cummins 4bt into a 98 dak 4x4. I've seen one in a 1st gen dak 2wd and a 52 Chevy Suburban. Both clamed 35 -40 mpg. And with rising fuel prices this sound very good to me. The only catch would be if I can do the swap and still be emmisions legal in CT.

Thanks for any info,
Aaron

dakattack98, it sounds like a good idea. You need to check the laws in Ct. to see if it is legal. In California it wouldn't be, because its not what the factory did. To add insult, in Cal. Iread were a guy switched over to propane and even though it cleaned up the exhaust so much the machine couldn't detect any measureably polutants, he was required by law to go back to gas, and polute more again. Wuth all the scare about "global warming" you would think the law would let anyone cut the polutants on their cars.
Personally, I think the golbal warming crowd are nuts.
