Hey all,
What are the best performance mods for the 3.9L Dakota pickup. I'm sure that K&N filter is number one and if so, which filter/kit is recomended best
for the 3.9 v-6?
What other mods are the best bang for the buck?
How about a cat-back exhaust? From who tho?

welcome aboard!
if you are looking for a place to give you a rundown of the best mods and how to do them, go to www.fast4x4.net. that's a good site with lots of helpful advice. as for where to get it, your best bet would probably be www.speedtweaks.net. they have great prices, and are designed for dodge vehicles.
any more help... umm... well, your basic setup with an air intake would be good. i've got instructions to make a good one on my webpage. also, you can try the IAT adjuster (from speedtweaks). when you get a chance, change the sparkplugs to Autolite 3923's. eventually change your muffler... if you want to do a dual setup, then get that done... or for a cheaper alternative, you can just get a muffler cut in. and about the muffler, asking people here is like opening a can of worms. the basic jist of the thing is Flowmaster is the loudest, Dynomax is quiet, i think everything else is in-between.
again, i recommend going to the sites above, and visiting my site.

I GOT THE AIR RAID ON MY DAKOTA AND IT WORKS WELL ANOTHER MOD WAS THE FLOWMASTER MUFFLER.40 SERIES IT SOUNDS VERY LOAD SO EVERYBODY SAYS.

I have a duel setup. 2 1/4" pipes and 4"tips I'M TELLING YOU IT SOUNDS VERY LOUD.I payed about 300 for it it was well worth it.

So far ive installed a cold air intake, true dual exhaust with 40 series and X pipe, jet performance stage 1 chip, tb spacer and hy-flo cat and have had amazing results. it wasnt cheap but it will pay off soon with 22mpg over the road

How much did all that cost? I'm wondering, because I get 20 mpg highway with a club cab 4WD V-6. That 2 mpg difference would be maybe 50 to 100 gallons of gas per year saved, if you drive between 10,000 and 20,000 miles a year. That's $160 to $300 a year savings. Sounds like it would take many, many years to pay that back. What is your calculated payback period?

I drive a minimum of 500 miles per week and carry at least
600lbs of cargo at a time which didn't get me the greatest
mileage before any mods. Before I did anything to the truck
I averaged 13/16. Now carrying the same amount of cargo I
average 18/22 so within a few months it will pay for its self.
And since I did everything myself it totaled out at $900
bucks.

Bob Lincoln says dyno proven 100 HP? I call BS.You would be lucky to get 100 HP by adding all the mods listed above. Don't be fooled by the talk from people claiming 100 HP. There are plenty of technical sites that prove that TB usually give no more than 2- 8 HP and end up costing you gas mileage. Don't even reply! Check it out by trusted sources, not forums. Everybody has a fish tale to tell and we all know how fish stories end up. Don't take offence, take advice.

the cheapest and best way to get more power from a 3.9 is to swaqp it for a 318 or 360. 3.9s last forever but are always slooooow

I've got a stock 3.9 and its far from slow.... Infact, its won 12 of
13 drag races. There so low geared that a light to light race,
the dodge dakota is 2nt to none
