Subject: Heater core question

Message:
I've read numerous posts about problems with Dakota heater cores. I have a 2000 Dakota, and started having the radiator fluid fumes/mist come out of the a/c vents.
My question: Is there a way to somehow wrap the pipes on the heater core with some sort of rubber tubbing to prevent this problem, or is there a longer lasting after market heater core that some company has redesigned to not go out like the factory one?

Just wondering before I have to pay $450 for a $40 part to be replaced, that may or may not last that long.

try the napa one i replaced mine with the napa one a while back and have had no problems with it just make sure to use distilled water when you refill the coolant back up, also as far a modifying it, the answer is no, once you take it apart you will know what i mean when you take alook at the oem heater core.
