truck bucks and misses slightly when driving it after sitting overnight. once it warms up it's ok. also, when i accelerate it's slow. doesn't miss and accelerates smoothly but just seems like a delay. i've already done full tune including new wires and cap and rotor. i've tried injector cleaner (seafoam). i've already replaced the IAC sensor because i dropped the old one when cleaning it and busted it. i have not replaced any other sensor because i don't have any codes. i currently get about 20mpg highway, probly like 15 or worse in town. i put a purulator air filter in, could it be too restrictive? i think i'll try and put my K&N back in. i took it out cause i read up on all the controversy about K&N letting dirt in. i have not checked my fuel pressure yet, i don't have a guage.

could be the engine temp sensor. not the one for the gage, the one that the PCM reads. that would be why it ok after the engines warm.

Could be a clogged cat or exhaust restriction.... Do a back pressure test with a vacuum guage where one of the O2 Sensors are...

where on the engine is the engine temp sensor located. that's not the same as the IAT sensor(ACT sensor)is it?

not sure right now, my trucks not here to look at but, i know the sensor for the temp gage is in the intake manifold practically underneath the a/c compressor. but you're needing to check the other which should be on the intake to the right of the one for the gage.

Does this happen everytime. or just once in awhile? Mine did this, wasn't everytime, but then one day I didn't think I was going to make it home. made it home, didn't start the next day. Replaced fuel pump and all was good.

no it doesn't run that bad to the point i don't think i'll make it home. it's just sluggish. you press the pedal and nothing! and it runs like crap when it cold but it warms up and it's fine but the sluggish is all the time.

i've replaced a lot of stuff. complete tune up which included cap and rotor, wires, plugs, cleaned throttle body, new IAC sensor cause i dropped the old one, cleaned IAT sensor (air charge), flushed radiator (just for prevetive maint.), new thermo, seafoam in gas tank for injectors, cleaned pvc, new air filter, even reset PCM.

saw a little bit of oil on the plenum pan when i cleaned the throttle body and question the plenum gasket but i don't use any oil. only time i ever put oil in is when i do an oil change. very slight pinging sometimes at very low rpm's in higher gear.

the only thing i have not done yet is get fuel pressure checked. i'm afraid to see the outcome as i've dumped enough money into this truck in the last 3 months. i read 45-47 psi after warm for fuel pressure. is this right? going to see if mech. down the street has a pressure gauge. i'm sure the fuel pump is ok but i question the filter. i dread this job, i once had an S10 that i replaced the fuel pump on. took the bed off, was much easier since i didn't have a lift.
