ok just done brakes on the dak yesterday and when i went to take out the slider pins on the front broke the threads off one on each side drilled and tapped em out so no real big problem but would like to know if this is common or just happened to me or is it one of dodges better ideas and they aint strong enough....another ???? not dak related have a 96 intrepid 3.3 120k have had it for like 6 years now and has always done it when goin to start after the cars warmed up and been sittin for a few takes 3 cranking cycles for it to fire have tuned it and checked codes(none there) and checked all sensors everything checks out fine anyone got any ideas all welcome thanks

as far as the dakota goes...yeah, another one of those problems. I just drilled and tapped all of mine a few weeks ago. don't know anything about the intrepid. except that everyone I know that's owned one had nothing but problems after they threw some miles on it. good luck

thanks for the info boomer now i know about the dak brake sliders and as far as the trep goes ive had the car for 6 years and 70k aside from the normal stuff this is the real only problem ive had hope someone else might know and thanks again

I don't know about the Intrepid but on the Dak brakes, or any other for that matter, I use anti-seze on the slider bolts to help keep them from freezing up, just think about the enviroment they are in, either its water, snow, ice, or heat. Everything needed to make rust, so my experience has been with most all cars, or trucks that use disk brakes, anti-seze sure helps.
Just my opinion.
