 Subject: 2000 3.9 alternator squeak....

I have the most annoying squeak sound coming from my alternator, I have no idea how to get it to stop short of buying a new one to replace it.... Has anyone had this problem before? howd you fix it?
I tried to replace the tensioner pulley thinking the squeak was coming from there, also tried another drive pulley, but neither worked... I then took the belt off and spun the alternator pulley alone and it seemed to squeak in a certain spot in the impeller...
Thanks for all your help!!!
P.S. I did try to spray some electric parts cleaner in there to see if that would help, it didnt....

2000grndak, you have a bad bearing from what you have said, the only thing you can do is replace the bearing, or alt. If its working ok, I think I would try to find someone that could replace the bearings, or do it myself if you can do that, otherwise replace it. Only thing, if you take it apart enough to replace the bearings, you may as well replace the brushes. Just my ideas.
