Subject: 1990 Dakota - water dripping under dash
IP: Logged

Message:
I have a 1990 Dodge Dakota which I bought over two years ago from the original owner. Just yesterday I started to have water dripping from underneath the dash on the passenger side, and it began to accumulate on the floormat. There have been heavy rains for the last few days, but I have never had this problem before. I'm pretty sure it is not from the A/C.

I've seen a few other posts about similar problems, but I can actually see the dripping. Can anyone help?

Could be signs of a heater core failing. Is it engine coolant or just water? U should be able to smell the difference if its coolant

I actually fixed the problem....It was the A/C, but the only problem was that the small rubber drain on the bottom of the firewall was clogged with a leaf of some sort. All that needed to be done was pull off the rubber drain, run a wire through it to clear it out, and then re-attach it.

No more leaking....
