Hey Larry,
It's time to tune-up my '00. I got the cap & rotor w/ brass contacts. What a good choice for plugs? Autolite ap3923's(that's what I have now)NGK's, E3's, Halo's(can't find locally). I have MSD 8.8 wires & a MSD stock replacement coil. Also what gap should I run?
Thanks.......Gears

For everyday running i think the best ones to go with are the NGK's V-power, which is the ones i am running in my truck, and just need them at their normal gap. i believe thats .045. I could be wrong though, i gapped mine to be .060 but thats because i had the whole MSD ignition setup. Its actually starting to idle rough though from some reason so i was thinking about gapping the plugs down to .055

If memory serves me right Larry has recommended Halo plugs, NGK's next then Autolite 3923.

Autolite 3923 are what I'm using gapped at .050 with my current mods. I'm getting a nice tan color with that gap.

The Halo's come gapped at .040 and are not adjustable, but Larry has said they work well with modifications if you get the one range cooler plug.

Hey screwuphead,
How hard was it to install the MSD? And where did you mount it?

screwuphead and gears,

One of the important things to remember when gapping your plugs is to attention to the color of the plugs after running them a couple of hundred miles. If they are white, your running way to hot if they are a tannish brown color they are just about the right color.

If you had your plugs gapped at say .060" for example and you have added mods to your truck, let say a cold air intake and a cat back system after the plugs you better go back and recheck the color. The installation of those items alone may be enough to require a slight decrease in gap to say .055" or .050" to keep the tannish brown color.

92 and 97 Daks both with many mods.
