besides K&N, what paper filters are good. I'm pretty much reading that all FRAM stuff is crap! of course i can always get OEM air filters but i'm afraid to even see what mopar wants for it, same with their oil filters.

Can oil filters in anyway affect engine performance? I've always used fram oil filters mostly for the convenience of being able to buy them at your local wal-mart but i'm reading so many bad things. I have one on now and the truck just runs not good and i've had full tune up, wires, plugs, cap and rotor, pcv, cleaned throttle body.

Fram has changed the design on some of their filter lines. check out their website for more information.

pure one is good. They also make air filters and cabin filters. They also make filters for your home.

wix is supposed to make a good oil filter.

what do you mean truck runs not good?

if i accelerate hard it feels like it bucks a litte bit and accelerates slow. runs good though under normal acceleration conditions. i have 74,000 miles on it and all original sensors. i get good gas mileage and plugs are burning light tannish. I've tried all the plugs, recently just taking out the NGK fr5's and putting the champs back in. the ngk's were burning white but the champs burn normal, hmmm! no codes either.

For less than the money that you may possibly spend on a K&N drop-in you can go on ebay and pick find a CAI. It more than like will not be Volant or K&N or AEM, but as cheap as I paid for one ($25 and $10 s/h) you can still go and upgrade the cone for any brand name oil or dry filter for another $30-$50). You have still only spent at most $85! I bougnt the drop in about eight mos ago trying to be cheap because I did not want to use EBAY and had not setup paypal. Plus, I had not done my homework and the least I had found one the was about $275. I wish I could get that 50 dollar bill back and put it towards my F&B 48mm or 50mm TB! All that to say...K&N is better than anyother DIF, but I would suggest to open up some room in the engine bay and install a CAI sys.
