Subject: runs rough after injector changeout
IP: Logged

Message:

I recently installed some new injectors from five-o motorsports. This is in a 95 3.9 with 148,000. The changeout was fairly easy by following the instructions on this forum. My problem is that after the truck sits overnight, when I start it in the morning, it runs like crap for about two minutes, then settles down and runs fine. I reset the computer module when I changed out the injectors so I would not think this would be a problem. Any help would be appreciated.

it will take the PCM a couple hundred to learn the new injectors. or what condition is your battery in? load test it. a weak battery will still start the truck but cause a rough idle on a cold start for a couple minutes.

sounds like a bad injector or two. your truck has only one fuel line, the feed line. one is leaking down, alowing air to enter fuel rail. so when it fires after extended sit time, pump pressurizes a line full of air and fuel, the air makes the random miss. mine did it to,pissed me right off. for the record, accel injectors are junk. check your input o-rings too, sometimes the pressure will seal them, after off for a couple hours, it'll laking fuel, evaporate, and leave you guessing. be SURE to check for hot and cold leaks. put it this way, it the regulator was on the rail, and it had a return line, when you first turn the key to on, it would prime, and push air down return line. i don't know why dodge did this, weird. good luck
