I was looking into buying a eprformance muffler and an exhaust tip for my 99 dodge dakota sport, i was just wondering what the inlet measurments were and the outer easurments, i was also wondering if u would need to buy both the muffler and the tip or just the tip to make the soft buzzing sound

kryp2nite,

2.5 in out with a offset outlet.

dynomax 17748

flowmaster 50, 40 if you want more noise be sure
you get the longer 1, 22 23" long the short 18"
will hum you right out of the truck.

Glass Pack I had a 3" straight through purple
hornie muff I tried on my truck even with a tail
pipe it would blow your ear drumbs inside the
truck,

I had the 2.5 Y Pipe into a 2.5 to 3.0 with a 3
bolt header flange welded on and the purple bolted
on it with no tail, To Loud tried a tail still to
Loud, I took it off and went to a dynomax.

It did sound good man did it rap but trying to
sneak through when you see a cop was a pain.

Performance wise it did not seam to make any dif
on my truck from the glass pack to the muff and
I don't get rattled out of the cab.

The only reason I tryed the purple was because I
always wanted to try one and was just playing
around in my garage that winter.

The only thing a tip will do is change the tone
and make it quiter, If you want more sound you
need to change the muffler

when i did my exhaust ,i didnt have much money so i put a splitter behind the the stock muff, and had duels run out the back.people are amazed that its not a v8, cause it sounds pretty dam* close to it.I would have never guessed it.probly didnt help with performance, allthough after i gutted the unowut, and ran a 3" pipe through it, that probly did.
