just curious if anyone knows of any issues with the power steering pumps on the dak's. i'm starting to wonder if something is up with mine. either that or the steering rack. Truck had been pulling crazy to the right and also felt very tight in steering. got a wheel alignment and still pulling right. Pep boys said swap front two tires so i did and that helped alot but it's still really tight in my steering. it just doesn't feel right to me but pep boys said nothing seemed unusual. only noise i get from the power steering pump is some noise when turning my wheels at idle and even then it's not something that makes the neighbors turn their heads. but should it make any noise at all? Also, lately truck was feeling like something holding it back and i thought it was alignment but it's aligned now. Brakes are fine and nothing binding up. feels like something internal like in the drive train or engine. i'm going to take the belt off and see how hard it is to turn the power steering pump by hand. I wonder if it could be straining the engine if it's bad. Funny thing is all of this seems like it started happening after i put a new serpentine on about 2 months ago. it's the right belt and fit fine. I also want to change out my differential oil and also the manual trans. for the record, truck had full tune up and it's a 2002 sport 2wd.

No u have to buy or rent a special puller that grabs the pulley. U will notice in the center of the pulley theres a piece that sticks out with a lip on it. U put a special puller on that It graps the lip and takes the pulley with it. Works really good, But im not to good at explaning it
Done it tones of times to different cars/trucks
real good system Works great for putting the pulley back on as well

is there anything from the steering wheel to the rack that needs to be lubricated? I too have tightness in my front end but yet everything was ok on the alignment rack. mostly for me it's when going into turns, it just feels like it wants to break out of the turn, it's real tight on the steering wheel!
