Put an electrical fan in and it works well, put it to the true test in heavy traffic. However I think my 95 is running hotter in traffic and my low oil pressure problem showed up again. It was a problem before as has been stated hundreds of times on this forum. Low to zero on the gauge at idle once the engine heats up, goes away when speeding up. My oil sensor gauge is new. I'm thinking at higher temperatures the oil thins out and am hoping that when I put synthetic 10w 30 Royal Purple in the problem will go away. I also readjusted my fan module control to come on sooner. Any thoughts? Would a different oil weight help during the summer?

i had the same problem for a bit. Thought it might be worn oil pump or sludge in the pan. But i pulled off the old oil filter which was only on there for maybe 1500miles. and cut it open only to find it collasped. So the oil was just going through the bypass valve which gave me bad oil pressure. Change your filter might solve your problem

Man oil filters stay away from the cheap ones
spend the money get a
wix
baldwin
napa gold same

I use the K&N HP2004 with the royal purple
run it 4 to 6000 or 6 months with me it ends
up around 5000 miles

When I go to change it always full has just a
light to med tannish color not bad

some of the cheap filters will drain back and
cause colaspsed liffters on cold starts the
reg fram is good for this one

A little more money but a lot better protection

My oil pressure was always 40. When I noticed it falling to 30 to 35,I went into this blog to see what was happening. Blown engines. So being meticulous, I had my mechanis change the oil pump(it was not clogged) and he put a rod lifter kit in. The lifters were down to the brass...no metal left. Other worn about the same. Got more oil pressure thouigh. After driving 10 to 15 minutes,It still drops slightly to 35 to 40 at 50 mrh. but other times it stays at 40. drops to 20 to 30 as I slow to a stop. Good I have a 95 with the 3.9. 124000 miles. i plan on keeping it so i fix all problems. i watch the oil gauge all the time. this is a second dash gauge. it came from a dodge with 66000 miles on it in a junk yard. if you have a problem i probably had ir already. my advise get it fixed asap. dodge labor is high.try local dealers. my mechanic is a dodge expert. he reads everything on dodge. The labor on a 4 wheel drive is 6 hours. you have to remove the front axle. Pan was not clogged. What about main bearing..does that produce oil pressure. A lot of things can lower the pressure. Maybe its just wearing out. But those rod bearings were gone. I saw them when it was torn apart.
