Ive used flowmasters 40 series for years and now use the super 40 series, however Ive never ran a dual system with a flowmaster, for that I always went with dynomax ultras or magna flo. I would think you could decrease the pipe diameter on the outlet. Instead of running 2 1/2 run 2 1/4 or even 2 1/8 this would provide a little restriction. This will increase the sound level but only slightly. Or you could call the flowmaster tech line at 1-800-544-4761 and they could give you the best idea of what you may need to do.

Stuff a potato in the tail pipe and you will have all the backpressure you will ever want. Trust me, backpressure at the muffler does not help. This works great on short exhaust systems like motorcyles but do nothing for cars or trucks.
