Ive been getting bad MPG will my Dak for awhile and ive improved it alot but doesnt hurt to go alittle further and see if i can get more. I bought the truck used and it has 154,000KM or 70,000 Miles. Which o2 sensor is the one i should be replacing? front or back and is there a good type of sensor to get?

What do you consider bad mpg? There may be no need to do anything. Please post your numbers and by what methods you have already improved them.

don't just go throwing parts at it unless you've got money to burn, which is still a waste. as Bob said, more info and we could be of more assisstance.

When i got the truck i was getting about 9 MPG. The truck was really run down. It badly needed a tune up. Now im getting about 14-15 MPG

2wd or 4wd? Big tires? Kindof driving habits? Clean the throttle body... Clean the injectors... and if you need new 02 sensors go to SummitRacing.com and get a set of NGK sensors and you might as well replace both of them. Thanks.

Wouldn't hurt...but realize it may not HELP either...

Is that city/highway or combined driving? 14-15 city/combined is bout average...a lil under, but all trucks run different. If highway, either your foot is too heavy or something needs fixed...possibly the O2 sensors, possibly something else.

how about tire inflation and alignment? those play a big part in mileage. i'm sure there is a procedure to check the o2 sensors before wasting money on new ones if you don't need them.

Yeah, there is...you use a multimeter and check the voltage. It should flip flop...from like .1 to .9 and stuff I think...if it doesn't flip flop, it's not working properly. Can't remember what wires to hook up to or anything though. Larry describes it all somewhere...actually in multiple places.
