I got code P0420 set. Does this mean my cat converter is bad or the O2 is bad? How can I be sure what to change or fix?

I would first replace the rear o2 sensor this
tells the computer how the converter is working
You will find the best price on the organal sensor
from ngk.com
The same sensor the factory instals NGK NTK
For some reason the post cat sensors do go more
offten than the pre cat
If you have 60,000 to 80,000 on the truck
consider replacing both sensors
I like to replace both at the same time
