 Subject: Electric Fan & Towing

I've yet to put an electric fan on my 95 for my latest mod because I'm concerned with overheating. I'm especially concerned if I'm towing my ATV and the added weight will cause a problem. So my question is will an electric fan handle the extra stress of towing (heat wise) and is the increase horsepower worth it. Nothing I hate worse than having my truck full of gear and getting stuck. Maybe I should do the computer mod instead, and see how that works.

As long as your fan is 3000cfm its fine and
will not over heat
Also thermo switch set properly
be sure it moves air in right direction like
an arrow shooting into the rad hitting motor
LOL
I have seen a few guys put them in backwards
and over heat pulling the heat off motor into
rad
be sure just light a match when fan is on and
see were the flame is drawn
I am a fool and smoke so I use a ciggaret man
I have tried so hard to quit and still have
not done it

Got some e3's for sale, never used. LOL

put in a flexalite black widow 150 w/ internal themostat.....got it set @ 192 and it goes off at 180......works fine cheap2

I was getting 20 21mpg in the 40 to 50 degree
weather with the old H halo's
The new DR15YC-1
first 100 or so miles same 20 21
next 3 checks same 40 to 50 degree

Just today left at 7.45am 44 degrees got to the
shell after my trip at 10.30am 48 degrees out
23.40 and 3 WOTs wide open passing to 85mph in
3rd gear and still got this mileage
These trucks the milage drops the colder it gets
but the new halo is holdig very well
As you can see they make suce a change it needs
to relearn the new combustion speed
The 23.40 was after about 300 mile learn to me
this means when its 70 80 degrees out side I will
get 24 25mpg
1995 4x4
All the mods and bolt ons
gasket match intake stock runner length
Jet stage 2 chip stock computer
new chain & tensioner at 90 has 120,000 on motor
All amsoil synthetics except motor royal purple
MSD 6a and 8207 coil 8.5 msd wires
1.7 harlands
I do run a hood scoop with ram air just put the
K&N extream open to back on for summer so it blows
directly down throttle body
Actualy I did 3 things befor this trip and
mileage check
the K&N top
suction gun out all fluid from power stearing
pump 1 oz moly auto trans additive toped off
with amsoil syn trans fluid
2 tubes mr moly into transmission
23.40 I was very pleased when I filled up today
running the shell 93 oct fuel $3.21 a gal here
Yes the halo's are great the mid and top is
coming in very well was doggie at first

running the prmacool 16" 2950 elect fan
flexolite direct coolent read thermo switch
on at 188 off 185
The reg stant 195 runs 183 185 this thermo runs
cooler because the org is a metered flow design
Mopar techs say best power and mileage with the
computers at 183 degrees

Thanks for the info, my primacool 16" 2950 fan has been shipped, ordered the computer also, it's back ordered. I'm soon going to put in Royal Purple once I complete the oil flush which is dependent on driving mileage. I used X something or other and am on my last cycle. What amsoil products should I consider?
