 Subject: 3.9 to 5.9 Quad Cab 01

I have a Quad Cab 2001 Dakota with a 3.9. I want to upgrade to a larger engine without losing ac, ps, cruise, etc. Ive research and the 01 quad cab isnt avialable with a 5.9, only a extended cab RT model. The largest quad is the 4.7 V8. The engine and tranny I can purchase. I dont think that the tranny i have now can be used. But they dont make a drive shaft for quad 5.9, or will a 4.7 quad cab drive shaft work? And will i need a wiring harness and computer? and were would i be able to get one of these? Thanks DeleteReplyForwardSpamMove...

are you sure? i've found the 5.9 was available in '01 in a QC 4x4. use the PCM, you can ad the wires for the other 2 injectors to your existing harness.
QC and CC's are the same wheelbase so you may be able to use the same driveshaft.
