Ok, neither myself or my husband have any idea of how to fix a truck should it break down. What I need is to temporarily break my truck down. Are their any little parts under the hood that I can remove and the truck won't start or get damaged should my husband try to start it over and over again!? I have to drive for 3 hours to see the inlaws this weekend, and incase you haven't noticed, I DON'T wanna go. I've been praying for snow...not looking like that worked, so next on the agenda is to "immobilize" my truck, just til Sunday then I'm in the clear for another few months...hehehe! Please help! Thanx! :)

P.S. It's a '97 kota sport, v-6, 3.9, 2wd, auto with 203,300kms

lol, ignition coil wire popped off of the distributor might b a good one. Wire that coems off of a mounted canlike part that is usualy on the firewall. you can try to start the truck but wont get any spark. you can either take it off the distributor end or the ignition coil end, dosent matter which

Loose wire is too easily seen. If the guy really has no mechanical aptitude, remove the distributor cap, remove the rotor and hide it someplace, and replace the distributor cap. Same result - it'll turn like crazy, but won't start. That's what we used to do with military vehicles to keep them from being stolen.

Just tell him you don't wanna go. No sense fooling him or lying, it will just cause problems in the future. Remember, you can pick your friends but you can't pick your relatives. I think that somehow you are a little responsible for this situation. Wow, that sounded just like DR. Phil, LOL!!
