 Subject: Power Steering Leak

Hi guys! My second Dak, a 2WD '96 with a 3.9, auto tranny and just under 100K miles, has started leaking power steering fluid. It doesn't come from the pump or hoses, and I was told it was a leak from the rack ($400 to replace). Does this diagnosis sound plausible? Opinions, please.

could surely be the rack. you could probably save a couple hundred changing it yourself though. if you're up for it. a few tools and a Haynes or Chilton repair manual.

check the fittings (at the rack)
you may be lucky and they vibrated loose over time
