I have uneven tire wear on the outside of the front passenger side tire. Is this consistent with the need to replace the front ball joints?

could also be Front End Alignment
and/or failure to rotate the tires

Thanks for the reply.
The shop said they couldn't complete an alignment until I replaced the front upper ball joints. I would like to verify that outside tire wear is consistent with a bad ball joint before I move forward.

There is a recall for the upper ball joints seperating. It was for '00-03 trucks.
