fellas,
i have a few unknown noises in my 98 3.9 cc.
1. "popping" sound when turning right into steep driveway. shock? leafspring?
2. have an auto and when i shift to reverse it takes like 1-2 seconds after i shifts and then it squeaks into gear. rear end? tranny?
3. also have whistiling noise sounds right when i shut off engine, comes from top of engine...
any ideas on any of these would be great.. thanks

Not too sure about your other problems, cant hear the noise so I have no idea what it could be but my 99 3.9 always kinda whistles or squeeks when i turn it off. I wouldnt worry about it, I never had a problem.

1= probable - ball-joints - changed yet ?
2 =tranny -was fluid changed ? need ATF4
3 = vacuum leak ?

the whistle noise.... that would most likely be a bad seal on the air hat where it meets the TB.... popping noise... most likely bad ball joints... they are common.... the noise when shifting into reverse your squeek noise.... my old 99 dakota did it for years that i owned it and never had a problem...
