Subject: Fuel Problems?
IP: Logged

Message:
I am having several problems with my 1994 Dodge Dakota EXT Bed. As I was getting out of my truck today at work, I noticed a fuel smell. I didn't really have time to check but it did go away and when I started her back up, no fuel smell.

Also, whenever I brake the truck shudders something fierce and if I have the air running it sounds like it almost wants to stall or cut off.

Also, I did not see any fuel on the ground or smell it in the cab itself. It was only when I got out of the truck and it dissapatied quickly.

check for codes
key on (all the way forward, just before start)
key off, (do this 3 times)
then watch check engine light
it will give you a series of flashes
after each flash a slight pause before the next number (example= 3 flashes, slight pause, 2 flashes = code 32)
(slightly longer pause before the next numbers)

write down the codes and repost them
(and sounds like the O2)

So that gives you codes you can look up and find out what's wrong with the truck? I thought you had to get a tester for that.

I have a Dodge Dakota V6. When driving down the road, it cuts off. There is no fuel getting to the carburator. We have changed the pressure control switch and checked all the fuses and was told it was probably a tank unit. Does this sound like the problem is the tank unit? Please advise.
