Watch out removing it from the TB. Hold the lever shut with the thumb & the cable slides forward to get of the post.

On the tranny it snaps straight out of the post.

IF I remember correctly it is a PIA routing over the tranny.........

Adjusting the cable: Make sure the lever on the tranny is at it's resting stop (forward). Then up at the TB ( TB at the idle position)see how the the TB post will line up with the cable (dry fit). Should be a straight on to .030 off dead straight sighting.

IF the two do not line up press rectangle release for adjusting the cable. It is located where the cable is mounted to the TB. You can lenghten or shorten the cable.

OBIO3, daddio or J & J please correct if this is wrong.............

Sold my Dak a few week ago, gave the new owner the dealer service manual............

Should only take about 30 minutes with no lift......

Tye wrap that puppy away from the driveshaft, I can't remember how mine was secured.........

Check your old cable setup before the breaking it totally free of the TB. This should give a clearer picture of how to set the adjustment on the new one.

Have you considered just buying a high quality hose, slice it & wrap the old one?? If the old cable is not damaged, just the casing.........

I did this on the positive battery cable. It was rubbing against the p/s pump bracket. Used a leftover section of radiator hose & tye wraps....

Okay guys...question relating to adjusting the tv/kickdown cable...

I did that "tv cable adjustment mod" a few years back...but I think I went too far in adjusting the cable. I *tried* to re-adjust it and couldn't figure out how to do it.

I know you gotta pop off that white piece that's attached to the adjuster, but then what? Can someone explain how it works so I can re-adjust this. I tried to figure it out tonight while cleaning my IAC and changing my oil. I couldn't get it to budge...so I thought...now my shift point out of 1st gear when driving under normal acceleration is 3500RPM and if I mash the gas from a stop, it's gonna hit the rev limiter before it shifts (I let off at 5k and it hadn't shifted yet...when I let off, THEN it shifted). Did I somehow manage to shorten the cable TOO far and not even realize it? My gas pedal feels different too...doesn't feel like I can press it as far...I'm thinking the resistance I feel is the kickdown lever on the tranny...and I don't wanna bend it...
