Ford, Chevy and Dodge all have trany problems of one kind or another. For the most part, the ones you read about here are here looking for answers. The ones that don't fail seldom are heard about. Actually, The ones that fail are very few in reality. I was reading a forum a while back posted by a company that has about 8,000 vans. There using all 3 and the Dodge is the most reliable. I know this is a differant trany then the Dakota has. There game plan is simply servising all there equipment as required by the makers at the proper time. I put syn in all my running gears trany included on my 99 Dakota 4x4 CC bought new and it is as good if not better then new. Most guys that have problems drive there trucks hard. High speed, racing, power braking burn outs, you name it. Try counting all the differant parts required to build any auto. There are thousands. Chances are, your new auto is going to have some defective parts.
