Well, I have had my Flowmaster 40 Series Delta Flow for a while, just got to putting it on last night (with the c notch). I was VERY suprised to say the least. Nice and throaty. Almost too loud in the cab. I heard they take a little time to break in though.
C-notches went good too. One problem is on the driver side frame, right where the notch goes is a bracket that holds the brake line, so we had to relocate that. Besides that all went smooth. Now I don't get thrown all over my truck when I'm driving!! All in all it was a good night except I'm at work now going on my 3rd cup of coffee and 3 hours sleep! The joys of truckin'!!

Oops!! LOL. That must've madew quite the mess. I was VERY gentle and careful around that area for that exact reason.
You have the 40 series flow right? Did yours quiet down after the initial break in period? Don't get me wrong, I love the sound, but in the cab it's pretty loud right now. Probably has something to do with no tip. LOL Just the straight muffler right now. I haven't been able to find a damn turndown tip with a 2.5 " INSIDE diameter!! Any leads you can give me on that??

I have a 40 series delta flow, if you have no tail pipe it will stay loud. I took mine to an ehxuast shop and they put 3" all the way back from the Y pipe. It sounds alot better in the cab, but I think I have a leak somewhere in front of the muffler, I'm taking it back tomorrow morning to see what they think. But even when all I had was two foot of pipe off the back of the muffler when it was strait off the Y pipe it sounded better in the cab.

Is it possible that the c notch made me lower? I don't see how, but I just looked at my tires, and it is rubbing on the outside edges of the back tires now. Any ideas???

well... if you were resting on the bumpstops you could be lower now. Yes, i have the 40 series, yes it's loud and yes i dont have a tailpipe either. i love the sound personally but it is really loud in the cab... i would go with a tailpipe but no room with my suspension. a turndown isn't goig to help the cab noise. You will need the exhaust to exit from under the bed to not have it too loud.

I have the 40 series Deltaflow with duals out the back, and 3.5" tips. The sound is low and really mean. What I have found is that you get used to the noise and you almmost get "deafer". The muffler, I believe, will actually get a little louder, if im not mistaken, and will get more low and throaty. When I first got mine on it was a little higher pitched and didnt do the " woh woh woh woh" sound at idle. Now it sounds great. It is 100% better than the regular 40 series which I had for 3 years and you had a constant droaning in the cab. No droaning with the Deltaflow. Sorry to write so much!

I have a 50 series Delta flow and really couldn't be happier. When I had it first put on it was a little quiet, almost a rice burner type of sound. But now the sound has deepened nicely and no loud sound in the cab. They deffinately change right after you have it installed. But if anything they get throatier not quieter. greg

Well, my exhaust wasn't leaking, I just don't know what I V6 is supposed to sound like :) Mine is just a single outlet with a 4" tip(that looks a little gay though), but I still love it, it has gotten a throatier since I put it on. But sometimes I can't hear my tires squeal now.

Well, it's working on a week since I put it on. I LOVE IT!!!! I still have to find a turndown tip though, so I can pass the inspection. I found out the rule is you have to have something directing the exhaust fumes either out or down, not that it makes much difference, I guess it's just for the sake of having rules! :-)~ Anyone have any ideas where I can find one? I've tried all places suggested, no one lists it.
