if you get the 1.7 H.S. roller rockers, do you have to do anything to the stock valve covers to get them to fit? and if so, what do you have to do?

Nope...the Harland Sharps are simply bolt-in and will fit without modifying the valve covers. If you get the Crowers, you have mash the baffles down on the valve covers enough to clear the rockers...but not too far or you'll end up with oil flow problems or something like that. They also have to be adjusted when you install em (though they're sposed to be better...but for most of us who aren't trying to make our trucks run fastest at the track, the difference isn't THAT big).

I have the 1.7 har sharps on mine, no modifacations needed. Just make sure when you torque them down you put some loctite on them.....

22 to 24 foot pounds blue locktight you will
need a 1/4 allen socket and a 1/2 to 3/8 adpt
depending on what your torque wrench is most
are 1/2 drive

thanks guys. i plan doing that in the spring, hoping for some gains. is there any performance difference between the F&B tb and the Fastman TB? because i think the F&B is a little more expensive. And if they both perform the same i might get a fastman.
