What the heck is this that I read that the front hubs on the Dak are not serviceable...who thought up that idea?! I gotta pay $175 a hub to fix a sealed hub because a bearing goes bad?! That's insane. Who designed a hub that you can't pound out the rear seal, the races and replace them with new races, seal and bearings. Did I already say this is insane?!
Someone please tell me it ain't so!

there have been posts in the past here where people have changed out the bearings in the front hub on a 2wd. the bearings are pressed out and new ones pressed in. if you do some searching here you'll find some answers.

I just had the bearing replaced in the front left of my 2WD 2000 Dakota. It's possible, and only costs about $65 total, instead of $180 something for the whole hub.

Some parts stores will tell you that you have to buy the whole assy. So I took the bearing out of my 00 durango and went to the napa where i live and they had the bearing in stock. I dont know how auto shops work in your area, but the one i work at will press it out and the new one in if you supply the part and have the assy off, for 10 or 15 bucks. If you still need help with the bearing i can get the part # off the box mine came in.
