Subject: Airaid intake for $179? good or bad?
IP: Logged

Message:
i checked at styling concepts by my house and they said i could get a Airraid cold air intake for $179. is that a good price for an airraid? I have a 2001 v6 w/ a flowmaster 40 series dleta flow muffler. i have heard that Airraid intakes are not good at all. is this true? is there a better system for the 3.9? what kind and how much if you guys know. thanks.

I personally have a airaid aystem for my 00' 3.9
v-6. i love it. i get a nice growl around 3k rpm.
i got mine from truckperformance for $150
including shipping. 4wheelparts.com is having a
sale right now and they are offering free shipping
so you can check them out. i have no complaints
about my airaid.

don't get airaid. the 5.2/5.9 K&N is better and it fits 3.9s

I have the Airaid, made a difference. Does utilize factory TB hat and accordian tube. Don't think either makes much difference on a V6. Maybe on a professional drag truck. I am going to replace the hat and tube but plan on keeping the Airaid.

Airaid, 50 Series Delta Flow Flowmaster, Lund Elite Bed Cover...
Coming soon: Custom "Fastman" V8 TB (48mm), ignition, 4.10's w/LSD...

hey darn 4-banger is the I4 dakota as slow as i imagine it to be?? cause my V6 isnt much of a performer...i cant imagine what an I4 would be like. its like 120 hp for 3500. not a good ratio. 175 for 4200 isnt great either but geez...just wondering. airaid sux...hehehe literally and figurativly...i think the K&N kit must add much more power. i have to get an e-bay account so i can start selling stuff and use the money to buy stuff for my truck.

I just ordered my airaid last night. $182 including tax/s&h. How hard is it to install. I have a 99 3.9 4x4. Truckperformance.com says 8-10 HP gain. I will put exhaust on next week which I hope will give me another 10 HP. I would like to know if intake and exhaust has increased the MPG for anyone. I would like to improve on 15 MPG.
