Subject: 92-93 exhaust manifolds
IP: Logged

Message:
I was reading a few old posts and seen that there were posts about 10 hp gains using the old 92-93 exhaust manifolds on 94+ magnum 3.9 v6s.

What are the tell tail signs that ur getting the better flowing 92-93 exhaust manifolds? I just dont want to make a mistake at the pick a part yard and end up with what my 2002 already has.
Also are headers any better and if so by how much?

Thank you

You got the size from ES.
There is also a date cast into the manifolds.

Hey ES....I have a set of exhaust manifolds from a 92 dakota, I can let them go cheap. Let me know if you are interested. I can measure the ports/outlets if you want. SLewis12@hotmail.com

92 93 were rated at 180 hp 94 and up 175 the only
change was the exhaust manifold and pipe size

Just bolting them on 5hp

If the factory would have just set these up a
little better they could have claimed 200hp

The restriction at the gasket flange is the worst
bottle neck to flow in the whole system that and
a bigger throttle body easy 25hp

The headers high flow cat and low restriction exh
you can pickup 10 to 25hp at the wheels depending
on what else is done to the motor but if you do
not improve the intake side first throttle body
and the 1.7 rockers they will show a low end
torque loss
