what next $12.50 each

you would need an MSD box and coil to run this
gaped at .120

looks almost like some of the new LS Brisk
racing plugs

ls brisk makes the halo plugs they are one of
the biggest plug manufactures and have some
prety wild looking plugs that I plan on trying
some day

Wow 243,000 miles on the same plugs. I wonder how many Dist. caps and rotors you would wear out in that time especially with an MSD box.

Guys,

I way ahead of you on this one, don't even bother getting this sparkplug. It sounds like a great plug. It has better performance than the Bosch Platinum +2 and +4's but worse than the Halos or the E3 even with the MSD system. The cost doesn't justify the what performance this plug does have.

Another way to make your Cap and Rotor last longer is to limit the amount of current going though the wires. I have a set of Accel 300 racing wires on my 92 Dakota v8 (150 ohms per foot). I had a minor engine fire from a leaky connector on a fuel injector rail (my own fault), wasnt as tightly connected as should. Any way the Accel wires held up to this. I will catch flack over this, using the Accel with the MSD. I have the MSD wires on my v6 Dakota. I got tired of having to replace the cap every 8000 miles so I replaced the wire from the coil to the distributor with a custom made wire from a set of leftover Accel Super stock wire. The super stock wires 500 ohms per foot. When you consider going thru the distributor to the spark plug most distant from the dist., you are going thru approx. 4 feet of wire considering the MSD Super Conductor wires at 50 ohms per foot, 4ft x 50 ohms/ foot= 200 ohms. My setup Accel wire from dist. to coil 2ft x 500ohms/ft + MSD wire from dist. to futherest plug 2 ft x 50 ohms per foot= 1100 ohms. This may sound like a great loss in current. I have made my 20 miles test loop with with the MSD Super Conductor dist. to coil wire and changed to higher resistance one without any perceptable loss in power. I may be lossing one or 2 hp this way. By I willing the accept the loss in exchange for a longer lasting dist. cap and rotor. On the Gen 3, it a royal pain in the aress to get the dist.anyway. I would be willing to be that Larry and XMR would back me up on this.

I hadn't looked at their web site for a while. So iwent back to it and reread their material. Their claim to fame is a lower voltage requirement for getting across the gap compared to conventional plugs. Taking a plug with 240,000 miles and comaring to a brand new split fire is rather lame in my opinion. If they had made side by side comparision of performance (dyning, 0-60 mph 35 to 55mp accelaration tests) and gas mileage comparisons in the same vehicle or muliple vehicles, there information would be much more believable. I know Roger has hos own site for the Halo spark plugs (www.haloplug.com). But here is another Halo Spark plug web site with tons of good information (www.halo-sparkplugs.com). In my testing the Halos, E3s, Splitfires and NGK V power are the best. The halo-sparkplug web site calls the NGK V power the best convential sparkplug in the world.

I have to agree with the NGK V being the best
conventional plug out there

I have tested so many and the best is the halo
the E3 I have not tried yet the 3.62 is 1 range
colder and I will try it just looking at the
design being almost the same as the halo I know it
would work better

We are running the halo in the 360 S/C truck
the NGK V in the hemi S/C truck

I was looking for an alteritive plug because most
will not pay for the halo's at #9 each the
improvement in performance from the std plug to
the halo is very noticeable mileage increases
from 1 to 3 mpg is normal

The V Power NGK in my truck is showing exactly the
same mileage as the halo's did and the perf diff
I can not tell the diff hardly at all

I am just now getting around to finding the
optimal gap with the NGK's I started at .050

6a box instructions up to 10.5 to 1 comp say
.050 to .060 I always ran the autolite AP3923
at .055 .060 they ran the best

MSD Tech's say open gap .015 to .020 over factory
were this opening .005 to .010 over factory
ever came from that I have seen on this board is
way off the money its a wonder people say there
is no gain to be had with a better ign system
there would not be with this gap

I just ran a 191 at the wheels with my 4x4
79 degrees 64% hum I had previously run 186
189 with the halo's stock ign 70 degree 43% hum
had to pick up like 8 to 10 ponies from the
MSD

I have seen many stock internal V6's hit 200
rear wheel hp with the intake work and the head
port polish

For those of you short on cash get the Vpower NGK
stock IGN
obd1 .035
obd2 .040
use a good cap napa mo26 mo28 cap and rotor
with solid brass incerts

I have been running the cheap alm from auto zone
with the MSD systems replacing them every 8000
miles the MSD has so much power the alm cap will
not effet the perf with the stock IGN use the
better cap they will run an easy 60,000 miles
