I have a 2003 3.9L Dakota and I have two questions.
I am looking at replacing my stock headers w/ Gibson’s headers and a JBA y-pipe. Before I buy them I was wonder what kind of gas increase everyone has received by doing this mod. If you just did the headers and not the y-pipe that’s fine I just need info on what kind of numbers I am looking at.
My other question is about swapping to a remanufactured 5.2L engine. How much should I be looking at to get everything installed? I know I can use a few parts off my V6 but what parts can I use? Also would I have to change anything on the truck suspension etc…? Please I am very desperate right now on what path I should travel on. Thanks in advance

From what I've seem here the V8 bolts in. The trans can be used, although a trans from a v8 is recomended (auto trannys). You'll need a PCM and harness from a V8 also. Anything is possibly with enough money. If you want a v8 in the end it'll probably be cheap to sell your v6 Dakota and replace it with a v8 Dakota. If you keep your v6 and are trying for MPG increases the best thing is to drive like a little old man in a Buick.
As for what path you should follow, it doesn't matter- 'You can't get there from here'. LOL.

wow 1st if ya want gas mileage get a 2.5 4 cylinder fits right in 2nd if you put in a v8 for get the gas mileage////youll be buy new tires ever week!
