the pulley that the belt wraps around on the front of my 98 dakota sport will not come off. how do you take it off?? is there some kind of special tool? this thing is driving me insane. also the hose...lower one ( not sure what it is called ) has 2 nuts, one is larger and is right up against the pump, it spins in place...the other seems to be connected to the hose, but rests on top of the other nut....i cannot get this hose loose. how do i get it to come off? i try to keep the larger bolt stationary and turn the one on the hose but im not having any luck.

PS is one of the few systems on my 1994 that I have not repaired or replaced.
Go to autozone.com
See if the Repair Info section can help you.

the pulley comes with a power steering pulley removing tool.... the hose that should be hard at all to disconnect.... take 2 wrenchs and work as if your squeezing them together to loosen the bolt.... if that dont work then remove the hose from the rack or gear box which ever your truck has and remove the hose from the pump once out of the truck...

well, i dont have a power steering removal tool, so i guess ill just pick one up or another pulley. I TRIED THE 2 wrench approach to no avail. Do you think autozone would accept the broken pump core with a pulley and hose attached haha.
