When you change out the instrument cluster with another one from another source, where do you get the odometer reset to match the previous reading? I am going to assume that it can be flashed to the original reading. I am in Canada so would like to know who does it there. Also, would a MPH speedo setup work where a KPH speedo used to be? I can remember when it was all MPH around here and I rather liked it. This is on a 2000 Dakota with tach and auto trans and 3.9 V6.

replacing the cluster with another one the mileage will be the same.... the mileage is stored in the computer not the cluster.... most speedos have MPH and KMP readings on the dash layout so they should work fine....

Wow, no kidding? I thought the cluster had its own memory. Are you sure? Have you tried it or know of anyone who has?

ive done it.... the BCM stores the mileage not the cluster.....

I have heard conflicting answers, if you switch out gauge clusters
with a used unit, will it read the odometer mileage from the
new/used cluster chip or the original mileage? I have an 07' Dakota
with an electrical short.
