Can any body help me? I have this Dakota sport 94
I changed on the past winter the water pump because it was leaking badly. I thougt I did a good job, but the nigthmare just begun, now when I drive in town with The A/C on the temp starts going up but no overheating. When I had to drive out of town every time it gets overheated so I had to stop on almost all the gas stations. When it was winter the heater did not pull hot air so I get freezed. even with a new T-stat, but now on summer I prefered to park the truck and I'm not driving it anymore. Do I need another pump?

It is concievable your pump turns the wrong way. Or, somebody managed to thread the belt wrong.

What do you mean by 'overheating?' Does all the water boil out on the street? Id the gauge reading in the red?
How much mechenical experience do you have?

Your not making sense. Your saying it's over heating but not over heating and now stopping at every station because it's over heating. Without getting into an explanation from you, If your over heating but have no heat from heater, it usually means your engine is air locked. If this is true I'd have big worries cause it would mean you drove it all winter air locked. Air locks happen in the heads. I'm guessing it's full of anti freeze because your saying you had to stop at every station. Again, I'm assuming this was to add water. You got to tell this a whole lot better.

So many problems .... So little time

First drain the coolant and FLUSH the radiator.
Then BACKFLUSH the heater core.
Get a Prestone flush kit.
Fill with water and drive for 15 minutes with the heater on high.
Flush the radiator again.
Backflush the heater core again.
By now the water should be clean and clear, so fill with antifreeze and DISTILLED water.
I recommend less than 50% coolant, say 40 % coolant and 60% water. Calculate the amount of COOLANT needed, then add that amount to the radiator. Then add the water.
Drive around for 15 minutes to get it hot, then check the fluid level.
