bridges - you should call around to some more shops. I would try checking jasper engines and transmissions website (http://www.jasperengines.com/) and find a preferred installer in your area. Any shop that can stay on their preferred installers list is a good shop to work with.

I found a local shop that does great work. Best of all the shop manager is a former chrysler mechanic. The local shop is a preferred installer of jasper. In fact, they stopped installing any other engine.

92 t0 95 are RH hydrolic gov presure

96 and up RE elect gov presure

32 34 42 44 A500
squre pan with 1 angle corner

36 46 A518
pan with a rounded area and bigger

The best way to find out is call in to a dealer
give them your vin # and they will punch it in to
the DCC comp and pull up a build sheet and you
will know exactly what you have

There are many out there with 318 thinking they
have the 518 when in fact they are running the
heaveier A500 34 and 44 not the 36 or 46

As far as shift kits they will work in either or
just doing slightly diff mods to the body

89 to 98 I recomend the TCI 220500 but replace the
1-2 accumulater the junk plastic with the cheap
seal rings they get hard and leak creating bump
shifts and soft shifts get an alm with steel seal
rings redrider.us $15

99 and up transgo tfod 518 will work well in them
same as the mopar shift kit from dealer

These kits can be installed in 2 hours max by a
mech that is familure with transmissions for the
average mechanicly inclined guy take your time
follow the instructions about 4 hours

clean clean clean carb cleaner or break clean
no costic fluids like gas or fuel oil that leave
a film and cause sticky valves

1 othe thing to look at is the TV plunger and
sleave some have an alm sleave that wears and
leaks causing eradic shift points this must be
replaced if worn transmissionpartsusa.com $29
use org spring with 2 shim washers on either side
of the spring this will set your shift points
1-2 15mph 2-3 22mph at .050 on TV cable and you
can raise this upto 1-2 20mph 2-3 35mph without
bottoming the valve at WOT and it will shift
around 4,600 to 5,000rpm at WOT wide open throttle

SMR transmission also makes a very nice shift kit
with excellent instructions that tell you what the
changes you make will effect unlike the others
that just tell you how to install but not what the
effect will be
TCI and Transgo around $100 to $120
SMR is around $250 but they also replace most of
the springs unlike the other ones its a little
better way to go if you plan on moding your motor
a lot much stronger and well worth the price just
call and talk to pat SMR does only mopar trans
and they are very good at what they do we have one
behind the 360 vorteh and it shifts great

for the 518 the Bd performance body is an
excellent way to go install the servo springs
and cusion blockers bolt the new body is and
your all set around $220 summitracing.com listed
for the 518 618 trans only not avalible for the
A500

hope that helps you make the right desision on
what kit to use for the average owner just looking
for a little firmer and faster shifts TCI or
transgo will work just fine

well folks took my truck to a large chain transmission shop...and the guy told me he could not test my transmission because I had modified it by putting in a floor shifter.I had to ask him what did the shifter have to do with checking the transmission? Could not give me an answer.Folks I need a dodge mechanic...going to check my linkage again but I still only hear one shift....
