Subject: Squeak in Right Front
IP: Logged

Message:
I need some help here trying to find out where this squeak is coming from. First, I'll tell you what it's not. It's not the upper or lower ball joints - those are new. It's not the stablizer bar bushings either, I took the link off on the right side (the one from the stablizer bar to the lower control arm) and pushed on the bumper and it still make the sqeaking noise. It's not the upper control arm bushings. When I replaced the lower ball joint I lifted up on the upper control arm to test that out. So, that leaves the lower control arm bushings or something in the steering mechanism. Any ideas?

Thanks

you done checked everything else but two things..... the outter tierods..... they do move up and down with the suspension not just in and out when turning the wheel and 2 could be something with the shock.... i had a squeek on my 99 Dakota and come to find that a shock the was bad and what was happening was that it was getting tight on the inside... i dont how it happened but the shock was starting to lock up.... replaced front shocks and did the rears while i was at it and squeek was gone.... that could be whats happening in your case but i would lean more to having you having a bad tierod end....

i had squeaking in the front end and it turned out to be the wheel bearing. jack the tire up that squeaks spin it to see if it does when you spin it. grab the wheel at 3 & 9 and shake it. if there is any movement of the tire than i would take the spindle off and get the hub off of the spindle and see how it looks. i had the part fail out on the freeway and it destroy the spindle and the hub was toast.
