And the MIL code is???????

Help us out here, without starting your engine turn the key on-off-on-off-on, leave it there. The digital odometer will display the MIL code(s). Write them down. "P done" shows after they are all displayed.

What's your left foot doing?

well i tried that and nothing, I also read that you cant check codes on a 98 without a scan tool.
with changing my coil out, would it give me a check engine light, also when I was changng my plug wires I remember putting the the #3 and #5 wires on the wrong spot on the cap. then started it up and realized the idle was ruff and then notice that the wires were in the wrong place. I corrected and started it up and it ran at a good normal idle. now would that cause a check engine also?

Could be a simple code register of the mis-fire when you swapped the wires. Find a code reader and attempt reset after looking up the code(s).

See if it re-occurs before suspecting the new parts. Does it run okay?

It runs a little better, smoother idle and smooother acceleration, just when I punch it.
