Ok not that im in dire need of one just yet. And yes a few of you guys who were trying to help me figure out the noise in my truck awhile ago are prolly gonna say all that work for nothing. Well Trucks still running, but im wondering if anyone has a 3.9 laying around that they really dont need anymore and be willing to sell. So when my motor does go ill have one to replace it.

Im lookin for a gen 1 motor. Preferably a 87 so droping it in will be a sinch. But a 88-91 will work ill just take my carb and manofold off to get it to hook right up. I found one at a junk yard for 650 and thats with less than 100,000 miles (suposively) donno how reliable that is. drop a message here and let me know if its a resonable price i might be interested.

by the way it will be going into a 87 4x4 i dont know if the oil pans were shaped differently for a 2 wheel drive motor.

87dak,i have a 89 3.9 thats still in the truck,i,m in Maine,runs very good,around 118,000 miles,bought truck with rusted frame been parting out,$275 plus shipping,if your interested let me know i,ll get you a total on price shipped to your address

in the summer i am going to be selling my 98 3.9L. It will come with JBA stainless headers and a set of stock pistons. im thinking 500 plus shipping, the Headers cost 400 so i would say you are getting a deal. And the pistons cost a good amount too.

wow vern ur so helpful. Sounds like a deal right there for me. Thanks on the other motor but thats gen 2.

Vern quick question, do u think it would be easier to sticking with my carburator meaning switching all that over to the other block or i would be better off going with the throttle body on the motor you would sell to me. Or that would mean i would have to go to a completely different wiring harness? Incredibly even though my motor is carburated i still get a average of 20mpg so i kinda like it to stay like that haha.

Ill let you know what my dad thinks about it and all because hed be the one spending the cash, and like i said before its not totally nessary just yet but im definitly interested. thanks again
