Message:
Hi guys;

I was checking my tranny fluid today and I noticed it looks about 1-2 quarts overfull and has some bubbles in it. I had my tranny fluid changed at the local shop 1500 miles ago with atf+4 and they must have overfilled it. Any suggestions on how I could get some of this stuff out before it ruins my tranny?

Thanx

Checked while running in park or neutral??
Hot or cold?
My book says NEUTRAL. It does make a difference.

You CAN remove some through the fill tube.

does the fluid look normal? if it looks wierd or contaminated, you may have a breach in the tranny cooler within the radiator letting coolant into the ATF.. you can have the tranny fluid checked for the presence of coolant

It was checked while in park come to think about it. The fluid looks like new aside from the bubbles of air, but I will try checking it in neutral and let u guys know. Thanks for the help

Any way you look at it its a messy job to remove
but you need to do it the foaming causes
cavitation and over heating not a good thing

Take it back were it was done and make them do it

Nutral when hot anywhere in the safe mark is fine
