would 1.7 rocker arms work with a stock cam? and would they be hard to put in with new push rods?

The 1.7 roller rockers are designed to work with the stock cam. If yo are putting in new push rods, then you might as well spend the few extra dollars and time and put them in. Depending on your mech skills, you could go with Crower 1.7s which will requrie adjusting when installed or go with the easier Harlands which do not require the adjustments. I run the Crower rockers. And I went with crower guide plates and their extended push rods.
