Does placement of the muffler really matter? like if i move it all the way back next to the spair tire will it decrease my horsepower or torque in anyway? we all talk about what muffler we wanan get or what setup, now i wanna know where we should place it, is stock placement really the best?!

well placement of the muffler can be anyway... it really dont matter where its at... if ya place it where you said near spare tire, you'll drop the side exit exhuast and have to run it out the rear modify the pipe off the cat to extend to the new tailpipe where your muffler sits..... it just be easier to put it back in its stock location...

yeah the sound will be different cause the sound coming out of a pipe will be lounder cause the muffled sound had less pipe to travel out of

Not to say your truck would do this but I did this once on a Ford pickup. Sound wasn't so great plus it had this rushig air sound combined with it. Took me less then a week to change that problem.
So many problems .... So little time
