Hello all. I own a 1993 dodge dak RWD. Unfortuently about a week ago, my transmission took a crap on me 8-(. Were not going to discuss why haha. Anyways, the salvage yards around here are pretty dry but i have found a transmission from a 1992 dak RWD, will the two be interchangable? If not, what years will be? I appreciate the help everyone.

As long as they all have the 3 wire plug they
will work

The 95 was changed to a 42RH the only diff was
in one of the clusters it was made heavier

1992 to 95 will work in 96 they went to the RE
elect gov presure control obd2 they will not
work in your truck

Thanks again Larry. I appreciate the information. Now, hows about a run through on how to remove the old one and install the "new" one hahaha. JK, i will muddle my way through it, the Haynes manual is....less than informative for a newbie like me.

Just take your time and be sure the torque conv
is unbolted from the flexplate before you pull it

And I always recomend a new front seal when
changing the trans if it does leak its a pain
to pull it again to fix it

$5 $10 well worth it and be sure to lube the seal
before installing the torque converter and make
sure it is seated all the way into the pump

other than that no dif than any other trans

Well, the only problem is, im 17 and cant afford to pay for a rebuilt one. And ive never had to test my mechanical ability like this before, so i guess I'll find out what im made of. Hopefully the right stuff or im in trouble. haha.
