I am going to be putting in my V8 TB tommorrow. Got the cable (thanks Speedtweaks). I just looked really quick today. How does the TB cable come off of the accelerator pedal? Does it just have a connector like on the TB itself? Also, does it just pull right out of the hole through the firewall? Just want to make sure I know what I'm doing. Thanks all.

Your going to love the V8 TB I had my stock one off and the new one on in about an hour.
Just don't get impatient after you reset the PCM, my idle was a little rough at first so I reset the PCM again at about 150 miles, still rough I left it alone after that and after about 350 miles it was fine.

ah, just did this install myself, there were instructions with the paperwork on how to change the cable. there are two peices of plastic that push together at the gas peddle, and also at the firewall is a sqweeez thing too, good luck!!

I found it to be a pain in the aZZ, getting the new one in!

I agree with DakotaDan. Don't panic at the initial results! Mine was so rough, it was chugging. It took a 4 hour trip and halfway back before it smoothed out. What a great mod it turned out to be though, it sure picked up that soggy low end and the upper is so responsive.

Would putting a V8 TB on a V6 increase or decrease the fuel efficiency? Would it stay about the same?

OK, so it is normal. I was kinda feaking out. It is much less responsive than before. I'll take it for a nice long ride. Is it normal that the gas pedal feels like it is stiffer (harder to push) It almost feels like there is something behind it preventing me from pushing it all the way. Did anybody have the gas pedal feel stiff? From the sound of all you that already did this, I'm going to love it!!

I didn't find mine any stiffer than the stock one, I did see that the truck revs quicker with the V8 TB gota watch the heavy foot hehehe....

I would try to operate the throttle by hand (under the hood) to see how free it is, if there is binding take the airhat off and make sure the the blades are opening wide open by hand. If you had to install the TPS sensor you might check the slot on the end and make sure it engaged the TB shaft right.

I found my gas peddle feels loose, like there is to much play in it, and yes a push to the floor, doesn't do much, but my low end is back : )

I'll have to wait to check anything until after work today. I did notice something driving to work today though. No matter how hard I press the accelerator, my truck won't go over 2100 RPM. So I think something must be sticking.....

Well guys, I'm a moron!! :-) You know on the lever that opens your throttle? Well, in routing the TB cable there is a piece with a groove in it that the cable fits into. I did not have the cable in this groove. It's always the simple things......

Anyways, on a brighter note, WOW!!!!! I am impressed. Definately glad I did this. Thanks for all the help along the way everybody!

Yes, it's the black "cam thing" You'll know it as soon as you see it if that's the problem. There is a groove in it that your cable runs through.

OK, this thread helped me out... just changed out the cable, not too hard at all.

I almost did what you did lowdak, I almost forgot to put it under the "groove"... that would have been stressful.
