Subject: 2002 Dakota Alternator bad as a ... IP: Logged
Message: result of the PCM not regulating power flow from battery to alternator. My alternator went out and I was just told that the battery is fine, but there's not enough power transfered to the alternator, hence a new PCM is needed or it will start messing up the tranny, ignition, and so forth. Any truth to any of this or am I being screwed big time?

Message: Yes the pcm has the regulator in it but first
disconect the batt take the alt in and have it
tested most auto stores will test for free
