It could be your catalytic converter. That is what mine sounded like when it went out.

Sounds like Cat converter. The ceramic inside is breaking up, and it rattles against the housing. It is a metal rattling sound. Give the Cat a kick and you will hear a rattle if the Cat is bad. If no rattle, Cat is OK. Please note that Chrysler has extended the Cat warranty to 120 K miles. They must have had similar problems and a law suit to make them that generous.

the cat is fine. i thought that the sound was coming from the rear of the truck, but it isnt. i have a worn out tie rod on the drivers side that i have the part to replace it with, but i havent had the time to do it. when i turn to the left my drivers side tire is wobbling just a little and that is making the sound that i am hearing. i am about to go in for knee surgery next wednesday and i will have 1 to 3 weeks off of work while i recover. once i get to where i can drive again, i am just going to take it to the place i got my tires at and get them to put the part on and get the alignment done all at once. i can replace it myself, but i just havent had the time.

Oddly enough, I too have heard the same thing beginning aroung 1 month ago. I hear it turning when the chassis is torqued (like turning onto an uphill road)...I can't tell if its from the frt end or from under the bed area...but it sounds like a piece of the frame rail just bangs around under there. I've gotten under it and haven't seen anything obvious...and cat was replaced last march so it can't be the issue. (incidentally did anyone else get the letter from corporate about the cat warranty extenstion...hopefully I'll get my 225 back)
